Christmas Aboard The Catalina Wine Mixer

Celebrating the holidays on a boat isn’t that different from celebrating on land. We still hang lights outside, put presents under the tree, and watch lots of cheesy Christmas movies! We just have less space, fewer decorations, and avoid fragile ornaments at all costs.

Here’s a peek at Christmas on The Catalina Wine Mixer. I’ll be sure to snap a few pictures of the boat at night for my Instagram page, too!

This cute little basket usually lives on our coffee table. Swapping holiday greenery for travel magazines and tiny succulents is an easy way to change up our decor. And, it slides right under the couch when we’re cruising the bay.

Indy approves! And might want to eat those pine cones.

I found a couple of tiny (and adorable) little decorations that take up minimal storage space when we aren’t using them.

How cute are those tiny little trees?!

We keep the Christmas tree really simple (no ornaments!) and the presents to a minimum. Brian and I usually give each other “experience gifts” (this year we’re going to St. Croix with some friends for New Year’s Eve!). We don’t really need anything and even if we did, we don’t have the space.

(If you happen to be shopping for a minimalist or a tiny house dweller this year, check out my favorite subscription services here!)

Brian is NOT a fan of this glitterly wrapping paper. There’s glitter EVERYWHERE :)

We don’t have a chimney, but hopefully Santa will settle for a bimini instead. That’s where he’ll find our nautical stockings!

All we want for Christmas is good boating weather.

And of course, we’ve made sure that Indy has the appropriate holiday attire. This might be my favorite thing about Christmas!

I’m so looking forward to the next few weeks! Brian’s family is flying in from Hawaii, we’re going to cruise in a lighted boat parade with our little nephews, celebrate Christmas Eve with my parents, and head into the city for Christmas dinner with my extended family. We’ll definitely squeeze in a few extra cruises with our families, too!

Merry Christmas from our crew to yours!
